Welcome to the Jerky Wrangler! This is the Grande Sombrero edition. We’re up here looking at a wonderful example of craftsmanship from the old pioneer days, from probably the early eighteen hundreds. Who knows exactly, but it’s been around a long time. They built this thing to help survive the winters up here in the San Bernardino Mountains. The pioneers, and the hearty folks that were up here, no doubt had jerky.
This time were going to review Snack Masters. This is their hot and spicy edition jerky. And here is a piece, if you look at it, and see it’s a dry jerky. You’ve got pieces of pepper on there, and it looks nice. It looks like a nice cut of meat. They say, in fact, that it comes from animals raised on a vegetarian diet. Whether that’s corn fed or grass fed, I don’t know, but let’s give this a try. For a dry jerky, it tore very easily. Woo, those peppers just kicked in! If you get a pepper in the wrong spot, it gets pretty hot. But, this has excellent flavor. It’s great; I like it! In fact, it has a strong Worcestershire flavor. There is some soy in it, but that’s not the prominent flavor, which I think sometimes is nice.
This is a very good jerky. The cut of meat is excellent. I can imagine it had good marbling before they cut it, because you’ve got that kind of marbled meat flavor coming through. This is a great jerky, just be careful. You should probably have some water with you when you eat it.
I don’t mind a hot jerky like this. It has some good spice to it, with that Worcestershire, and some other things such as garlic, onion, black pepper, and so on. It has some great flavors. I think they all compliment the meat that they used. So, you know, Snack Masters, just looking at the way that they made it, it’s really like a homemade jerky. Snack Masters, I think you get a 10. You meet that top standard, and this is really great jerky. So, next time you’re thinking about building yourself a log cabin in the woods, get something that’s going to fire you up: Snack Masters Hot and Spicy! Take care, and see you next time.
