Durham Ranch Venison Jerky

Video Review of Venison Jerky

Welcome to The Jerky Wrangler. Today, we’ve got a nice beautiful sculpture of some bounding deer behind us. And, what a nice place to review Durham Ranch Venison Jerky Black Pepper. Now, what’s awesome about Venison is that federal law prohibits the use of hormones in venison meat products. So, just because of that fact, you’re going to get a higher quality piece of meat. Now, venison being what we’d considered, for some, an exotic jerky. For others that hunt regularly, they’d get their own venison, they probably don’t consider it too exotic, it’s meat on the table. But it’s different, again, from beef. Now, again, what we like about this brand is that they don’t use antibiotic steroids, no hormones, no preservatives of any kind. And, venison is free range, so there’s a lot of good things going into this. And, when you look at the piece of meat that they give you, there were other pieces too, I’ve already eaten them, so I’ve enjoyed them. But they give you some pretty nice – that’s a nice big slab of venison going on right there. Look at that thing.
You can see it has all that cracked pepper on top, so it’s a beautiful piece of meat. But it all comes down to the taste, doesn’t it?  So, let me give it a taste and see what we’ve got. Notice how easily that tore, that’s another good thing. Let me try this out. All right, now having tasted the venison jerky, black pepper flavor from Durham Ranch, I can tell you this is an excellent venison jerky. Just try to imagine how you would do it yourself. You’d go ahead and get your venison, you cut it up, you marinate it, you put it on the dehydrator racks where you throw the sprinklings of pepper on top.

This is what it’s going to break like and taste like when you make it yourself. Now this is a really nice jerky and it tastes great. They use soy and teriyaki sauce, but those flavors don’t over power the venison. The black pepper, that comes through, but it doesn’t over power the venison either. Either way you get that venison flavor and the other flavors naturally compliment it. There’s a little bit of garlic in there, a little bit of sweetness with pineapple juice, a little bit of brown sugar. So, these are all complimentary flavors to the venison.
Durham Ranch, you guys score a 10 on this venison jerky. Keep it up, you’re doing a great job. And, for all you Jerky Wranglers out there, if you want to mix it up between your beef and venison, this would be an excellent choice to try. Take care and keep watching the Jerky Wrangler.
