Carnivore Candy Jalapeno Jerky

I thought this would be an appropriate place to review Carnivore Candy and this is their beef jerky. This is what they call volcanic jalapeno. Now, this is a nice brand.

This brand doesn’t use any nitrates, not monosodium glutamate in their recipes, so it’s a nice clean jerky. Now, in looking at the pieces here, it looks to me like — they don’t say it on the package — but it looks like it could have been made from a brisket. It’s very tender, it’s got the marbling and it reminds me of a brisket cut. Although it doesn’t say it specifically on the bag. It definitely has the pieces of the red pepper on there, plus they have the jalapeno flavor that they mention. Let me go ahead and give this a try and see what it’s all about.

All right, now having tried the Carnivore Candy Beef Jerky, their volcanic jalapeno, it’s really good. It’s not super-hot, so if you don’t like things super-hot, it’s definitely not a habanero, but it has a good heat to it. It’s the kind of flavor that just kind of lingers after you chew it for a while, so it’s very good. As you chew on it, it gets more tender on each and more flavor is released each time. So, the beef definitely comes out, the beef flavor, but you have the nice flavor of the red peppers, the jalapeno and again, as you chew, you just kind of unlock more flavor each time.

So, Carnivore Candy, I’m going to go ahead and give you a solid nine on a scale of one to ten. I think it’s really good jerky. I enjoyed it. In fact, they could go ten. I mean I don’t know how’d you really improve on this anymore. So, it’s a nine or a ten, it’s right in there. It’s an excellent jerky. I think you’d like it if you like a good hot jalapeno flavor.
