Chef’s Cut Beef Jerky

Video Review of Chef’s Cut Jerky

Welcome to the Jerky Wrangler! We’re here in front of the Champion Lodge-pole Pine tree, over four hundred and forty years old. It’s an amazing tree, up here in Big Bear Lake California. It’s really an amazing thing to see. And when you’re in a beautiful spot like this, it’s nice to bring along your jerky. This time we have Chef’s Cut, and they call it “real” jerky. We’ll find out if that’s true or not.

This jerky, right off the bat, mentions that it has no nitrates and no preservatives. That’s a good thing. Now we’re going to give this piece a try and just see how “real” it really is. It’s a tender jerky, and it’s fairly moist, but there is no residue, so it’s still considered a dry jerky. But it is really tender, and it’s really bendable and everything. You can also tell that this was sliced from a piece of steak. You can clearly see the cut on it. It isn’t just a manufactured jerky, such as being chopped or anything like that. Not at all, with this jerky. This is from a real piece of steak.

So, let’s give this a try. Biting into that jerky was effortless. If you’re a person who likes dry jerky and not wet, yet one that is very moist and tender, then this is the jerky to get. It is really something else. Now flavor wise, it has a prominent soy sauce flavor, and I can taste Worcestershire sauce. Also, there is a fairly prominent flavoring of hickory smoke. There are other flavors here too. There is a little bit of garlic and onion, and some anchovies in there. And it is really tender. It just melts in your mouth. No effort at all to eat this. They really must have marinated it a long time. They started out with a quality piece of meat, marinated it a long time, and then put it through that drying process.

1to10 scale 8

Well, Chef’s Cut, when you said you are “real” jerky, you know what, you are. You had it right. I’m going to give these guys an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. It’s pretty good jerky. So, next time you’re at a beautiful location like this, with the Champion Lodgepole Pine tree behind you, don’t forget your jerky. Whether you’re on the trail, or on the road, remember the Jerky Wrangler.
