The Jerky Wrangler’s Video Review of Perky Jerky

Welcome to the Jerky Wrangler! Enjoying a beautiful day down here at Crystal Cove Beach, and I thought this would be a nice place to (you know what) try out some jerky. So, this one we have is called Perky Jerky, and it’s their sweet and spicy edition. What we like about this jerky already is that they don’t use nitrates, have no MSG’s added, and we appreciate that. We like it with no preservatives, but it’s all in the taste, isn’t it? So let’s give it a shot, and let’s see what it tastes like.

So in trying this Perky Jerky, first off, it’s a tender jerky. We enjoy that. It’s not leaving any residue on the fingers, so you can eat it anywhere. We sense that sweetness, too. You can definitely taste a prominent soy flavor and, in fact, it’s the second ingredient.

There is a sweetness that comes from brown sugar, and that also comes through. Now, the spicy part is almost nonexistent. It’s really not spicy at all to me. It’s very slight. You can taste maybe the jalapeno flavor in it, but it’s very slight. I would say that it’s just kind of a sweet jerky, and not necessarily a spicy jerky.
