Welcome to the Jerky Wrangler! Enjoying a beautiful day up here in the mountains, and we brought along our jerky. Today we brought along a new brand, it’s called Home Grown Meats. This is their cracked black peppered flavor, and this one is advertised as 100% grass fed jerky, so we’re looking forward to trying this. There are no Nitrates and no Mono Sodium Glutamate, and all the things we don’t like are not here, so this has a lot of promise so far. Let’s give it a try and see how it tastes.
There are a lot of pieces in here; they really packed this bag well. Now this jerky is a dry jerky, and it’s a little drier than some of the ones we’ve reviewed before. So it’s a little bit more like a homemade jerky. It’s got those prominent pieces of pepper on it, and you can see that. This is the kind of texture that you would get when you make it yourself. It has that fiber from the meat itself, and it’s not overly processed at all. Now let’s give this a try.
It has a very good flavor. This is an excellent piece of meat. They used a really good cut, and that grass fed flavor is coming through. I also taste overtones of Worcestershire sauce, but the pepper is very evident in the flavor as well. This is a really good jerky, and I’m enjoying this. There are a lot of flavors going on right now in my mouth; you can taste the beef, a hint of Worcestershire, and the black pepper. It’s a nice chew, and in fact, I like it more and more as I’m chewing on this jerky.
This is really good. I’m going to give this one an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. So, Home Grown Meats Beef Jerky Peppered, I give it an 8. When you’re on the trail or on the road, you can’t go wrong with this one.
